2013 Genre: Fiction
SLCC students are invited to submit fiction manuscripts of 4,000-12,000 words by November 22. Submissions may include one or more pieces of fiction and must be within the word limit.

Prize:
Winning Writer:  $100 honorarium and publication of your manuscript by the Publication Center—you receive 25 copies. 
Finalists:  Opportunity to work with Publication Studies students to publish a limited run of your manuscript (10 copies).
Eligibility:
Any current student at SLCC may submit a manuscript. The work must be the original work of the writer, and must not have been previously published.
Details:
The winning manuscript will be published in chapbook format and printed in a run of 250 copies; it will be circulated on campus and placed in local bookstores. The publication of the chapbook will be publicized at SLCC and in the community.
To submit: Send manuscript to slccpubcenter@gmail.com in this format:
·      Double-spaced and paginated, PDF format
·      Separate title page with the following information: Name of writer, e-mail address, street address, phone number, title of manuscript, and word count.
·      NOTE:  Your name must not appear on the manuscript anywhere but on the title page.

SLCC Business School is Utah’s First to be Named Exclusively After a Woman

Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) proudly announces a partnership with the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation to modernize its Business Building and transform its School of Business. The improvements are made possible through a generous $10 million gift from the Miller Family Foundation and Gail Miller, the largest-ever single cash donation received by the college.  SLCC is renaming its Business Building the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Business Building in honor of the Miller family’s legacy and contributions to the community. The business school will be named the Gail Miller School of Business in recognition of the strong business acumen Gail Miller displays as a community leader and as the owner and immediate past chair of the Larry H. Miller Company. You’re Invited to A Party! Open House Kicks off New Herriman Campus

  Complimentary food truck fare, live music, and family activities spotlight new campus.   There’s something for everyone at the upcoming Herriman Campus Community Open House on Friday, August 4 (3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.).
